Speaking of shore excursions to the mainland, a high-speed ferry transports guests from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen and it has a reputation of inducing sea sickness. International Pier

The private island of Isla Pasión is located at the north end of Cozumel, reachable by boat. Tours to this secluded beach are offered by all the cruise lines.

There’s also the newer Pancho’s Backyard down by Carnival’s pier, Puerto Maya. But I prefer the Pancho’s to the north at Los Cinco Solas small shopping mall. Puerta Maya is home to popular restaurants like The Three Amigos bar and a newer Pancho’s Backyard plus lots of colorful photo ops. The shopping mall across the street, Royal Village Shopping Mall, gets mixed reviews from customers.
Cozumel weather in September will be more comfortable than in previous weeks. Don’t expect to have a nice breeze, though, as there’s typically little wind this time of the year. Although a direct hurricane hit is not likely, chances are heavy downpours will impact your plans.

Unfortunately, the shore around the cruise piers is rocky and jagged. The “postcard” beaches are further down the island and on the eastern shore. Hotels and development block off each access to get to the water. There are a couple of beaches nearby, but you’re usually best off just going to an all-inclusive where there are open beaches and facilities.

With the rainy season finally over, Cozumel weather in November becomes increasingly pleasant as the month progresses. Although there may still be scattered showers from time to time, you’re more likely to have partly sunny days than full cloud cover this month. In May, humidity levels increase in Cozumel, and temperatures soar as the month progresses.
And with Cozumel’s reputation for great reefs and pristine coral, this is a great thing to do while cruising to this beautiful island. If you want to feel like a pirate for the day and get some great food along with some unique entertainment this is the activity for you. If you have more time on your hands or want to venture beyond Cozumel, consider taking a ferry to Playa del Carmen on the mainland. From there, you can explore the Riviera Maya’s many attractions, such as the eco-parks of Xcaret and Xel-Há or the famous Cenotes. Keep in mind that these excursions require more travel time and planning but offer a diverse range of experiences to make your cruise vacation even more memorable. Located in the heart of downtown San Miguel, Punta Langosta Pier is within walking distance of the city’s main attractions, shops, and restaurants. This pier is more likely to host smaller Royal Caribbean ships. From here, you can easily explore the city on foot or rent a bike to venture further afield.
